Abstract (English)

This book is the documentation of my master thesis project.

Emanating from an extraordinary site, namely a marble mine, evolves a phenomenon that makes the fusion of ecology and technology with the advent of artificial intelligence a subject of discussion. Distinct architectural interventions render this vision taking shape accessible and graspable to the human being.

This project has a very forward thinking, ecological approach and uses a fictional scenario based on an actual place. Technology, and a not so distant probable future technological singularity will enable a paradigm shift that will evoke drastic changes and developments hard to foresee. Nevertheless, based on philosphical concepts, my project positions itself at this particular turning point and gives a glimpse of how things could develop. The “crystal image” as philosophical concept by Gilles Deleuze will be applied to an architectural intervention as well as the notion of “dark ecology” proposed by Timothy Morton.
