In the year 2009 the student protest movement unibrennt was created. Object of the dissertation are questions about how this movement operates in concrete. Further the relation of society and Bildung, which are the framework for the protests, are examined. The foundation is the ideology-critical depiction of the instrumentalization (authoritative and capitalistic) that determines the society. Based on this both, neoliberal tendencies within university central reason for student protests and the dialectic of Bildung and authority are emphasized. In contrast to the proceeding topic of instrumentalization next on, following the kritische Bildungstheorie of Heinz-Joachim Heydorn, fragments of a contemporary Bildungstheorie are carved out. This allows to show the relation between protest and Bildung and the impact of authoritative-capitalistic influence on protest movements. The second part references on the firsts parts depiction of the influence of instrumentalization on society, Bildungswesen, -thinking and protest. The emergence of the unibrennt movement is elucidated. Elementary protest events and movement characteristic attributes are summarized chronological first and then analyzed critical. In the course of this it becomes obvious, that the activists could not establish their primary demands like free access to university or repression of neoliberal tendencies etc. A produktives Scheitern (productive failing), how the result of the protests are called summarizing, has to be stated. In addition to this failing it has shown, that abstracting perspectives as well as questions regarding the content of Bildung were of minor importance during the progress of the protests.
